Mike Werner

Hi I’m Mike a southern California Native, age of 50, living in San Diego.
I have only used 2 wheels throughout my life, motorcycles & bicycles.
I recall using for the first time "Triflow" on my 400cc motorcycle, when the "teflon" designed lubricant was just released on the market.
My first road bike was a "Peugeot PH10." (Simplex Components) and as an amateur rider and freelance photographer, my life was about bikes & cameras.
Since 2001 I became seriously interested in road biking using Campagnolo components.
Doing daily rides of as much as 140 miles max in 1 day. A range of 200-500 per week
Since my interest in cycling I always had interest whenever new lubricants came on the market. As any consumer has interest in new general products. But the specific category of "Lubricants" always had a special interest for me. .Just as my interest, of what "Castrol GTX" motor lube did, in the 1970s as opposed to other motor lubricants being "20-50" or "10-40"
"Finish Line" (FL) was one of those new names to come out later. Specifically for the bicycle market (at least in the USA) Compared to the many that followed around that time it was the most liquid.of the bunch. "Pedros' was popular, so I tried their lube. Not as thin as FL but it performed better. But I always like to try new names, in the search for a better lube that had to exist. I later tried "Pro-Link" and was definitely better than the other 2.
I have used "Triflow" most of the time for components & cables, until I discovered BRUNOX ‘Hi Speed’. It really takes care of my bike, cleaning, adjusting and lubrication needs. My finding of BRUNOX is as unique as my own frame set. As BRUNOX is now my choice of Lubricant -- the best shifting I have ever received for my Campagnolo Components.
2012
I have just moved to another apartment and whilst in the process I noticed my 'Mondonico' covered in so much dust in such a short period of time. I always wipe it down with soft paper towels, having heavy application of water so as to break down the fibres of the paper towels to the max and to drag off the dust. Then a finishing off with the Brunox 'Carbon Care'. There's something in it that repels the dust and for a long period. Very impressed with the CC !!

“A ride Out in California with Brunox High Speed Lubricant”
As of today ---
Ihave an update of another ride with the BRUNOX High Speed Lube.
The difference in application was that I didn't use a chain cleaner tool w/ de greaser.
but only a harsh wiping of the chain Using a clean shop towel ( the old-school, traditional red rag.)
I prefer the Bottle Nose, Great Size and Diameter with 19 + 5 Drops I set off for a 40 mins ride (Average Speed 17.5 mph Distance = 11.99 miles) as I have cycled this route many times, a fast ride due to no head or crosswinds, which is Very rare for this costal route and somewhat drier weather than normal (humidity)
The SHIFTING was very Smooth, in fact Perfect -- except x3-4 I ask myself why have the gear change sounds been harsher with other lubes? -- lesser application? chemistry??
In Relation to the Cassette during shifting in the mid to large cogs. Absolutely NO miss shifts which is a common problem I have in many previous rides.
I usually wipe my chain after every ride and lube my chain before each upcoming ride. many riders regard this as excessive maintenance or lubing
But for my regular use of the Brunox High speed I am looking forward to reducing my maintenance costs and enjoying the ride more !
